Nora Turns One!

I have had the honor of photographing this little girl since day one and she is now one year old! I think that this little girl might be one of the cutest little girls ever, but then again I may be bias. She reminds me what is important in this world. She is discovering something new every second of her day.

When I showed up for the shoot her mom and dad were dressed nice too and asked if I could do family pictures. This made me nervous, but I think that they turned out well. After the shoot, I was asked to take this families pictures again this fall.I already have a ton of ideas for it! Thank you so much for being my guinea-pigs through the last year.

Here are a few of my favorites to share:

Elk

These pictures were taken while I was out doing my research at Neal Smith. One unique thing about Neal Smith is that they are the home to Bison and Elk. Just think, this is what Iowa use to look like.

Something about a home town

I do not know about you but I know one thing to be true for me........ I have tried leaving my hometown many times to only return again.

There is something about my hometown that keeps me coming back. (Maybe it is the sweet smell of coffee and chocolate.)  I have decided that I should stop battling this and only embrace it and call it my home until I have a good reason to leave. So, I am here to stay and will be enjoying the view:

What do you love most about your hometown?

My Birthday Picture

This picture was taken while kayaking with my fiance and my best friend, on my birthday! The lake we were on was FULL of dragonflies and other flies that I could not identify. (This being one of them) This piece of wood was just drifting along in the water and this little guy paid it a visit. I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Spiderwart in June

This photo is thanks to a good friend. She volunteered to help me with my research with only a couple hours of notice. She packed up her bags and came with me for four days to trap small mammals in Neal Smith. After we were done with our work, we could not help be get out and play! She showed me a couple of things on my camera and I was able to get this picture. The dew was so thick and the spiderwarts were in full bloom! What a great day!

Bremer County Fair

Thank you to everyone that came to the Bremer County Fair to my photography exhibit. I enjoyed meeting and talking with each and everyone of you. I was in good company with the two big names in the area. The world of photographers are very nice people! Always willing to help another fellow artist. I am blessed.

Many of you asked if I sell my work, the answer is YES! If you saw something that you loved, let me know! I can be emailed at chelsie.uni@gmail.com.

You all inspired me to keep going and I thank you for that.

Cheers!
