A Life Time

Photography has allowed me to document life times. This family has leaned into my hobby since I started it. I have seen weddings, new life, vacations, birthday celebrations, family pets, sibling love, simple summer days, holidays, graduations, and other mile stones. Most of which I have captures through pictures.

This time I was asked to capture Christmas! It has been a couple of years of not getting to gather under one roof. Of course, I said YES! My absolute favorite type of session include grandparents as the center of the love.

As I mentioned, for some in this family I have seen their life time. It is fun to watch kids grow into the people they become. Watching young people grow into their joys and thrive in this world is amazing.

An added treat was to get out Great Grandma's furs. This is a tradition for the girls in the family to wear at some point. The furs will be going to the playhouse soon to continue to be loved.

I am blessed to get to be a part of the family and have people to call upon when I need advice, a good meal, or to simply stop by and get to talk education or birds! Having comfort that you have a friend in them and they have a friend in you is priceless. In fact, when I showed up to this session, I let myself in and came in like a tornado! They welcomed me with open arms.

Thank you for a life time of memories.

Time is a Treasure

Time is a treasure that is borrowed. We never know how much time we will get so we have to hold on and love deeply while we can. This session gave me several gifts and reminds of the treasure that time is.

First of all, I got to meet this beautiful family when I was a classroom teacher. Getting to stay connected with families is a TREASURE and while in the classroom this family was a big support in my success.  They leaned into my work and I hope they feel the same.

Another type of photos I truly treasure getting to take is when grandmas are the center of the work. When four generations can be in one room and feel the love that only this can bring is a treasure. Time is a treasure.

What about seeing the love that a mother has for her grown children that are leading their own families. Another type of treasure. If you look closer you will see that time blessed them with a sister that is shining her light from above. A name that is spoken often and the love they share for her. Time is a treasure.

The wind was really working hard to be helpful. This time was short and that was the treasure. With windblown hair and frost kissed faces, we tried hard to capture the treasure of family. Time is a treasure.

Cold Noses, Warm Hearts

Fresh snow and playful dogs are two things that really improve a person's day.

Today, was a family session where I was greeted by Kimber (the shepherd) getting out of my car. She showed me the way to the door where I was then greeted by two other dogs. I got loves and demands for pets and escorted to the kitchen to meet the humans!

Of course, they helped with our photo session as the entertainment, photo bombs and showed everyone where the photos were happening since we organized the humans in shifts.

Humans need dogs.

Dogs need to play in the fresh snow!

Thank you dog friends for your help!
