Senior Sunday

 Meet Miss Sid, a senior in high school with a contagious smile, powerful eyes, and creative spirit. 

We met a few years back when she was photo support for her older sister. I was very happy to be asked to capture her senior pictures too. 

This was a first time request for swimming pictures but we went all in for this and we truly created art in the pool. Sid was comfortable and I was drenched in sweat for this portion of our day. Thank you to The W for allowing us to use this space. 

Sid wanted a rustic vibe to her pictures with simple beauty. I knew the two perfect places for this vision. The truth about photography is that when the photographer truly enjoys the subject and locations, we can truly express ourselves. Sid was an amazing subject because she was up for anything! With this amazing human and the perfect locations, we created her vision. 

Thank you Sid for picking me to capture YOU as a senior in high school.

Gravel roads lead you home........

In this life we get lead to people that fill our hearts with love and friendship. For me, it is this family. As all families do they grow, inspire, and change zip codes but one thing remains true.... roads lead you home. More specifically, the gravel roads lead this family to true home. 

We all gathered together at Grandpa's house. We sang songs, danced, chased butterflies, laughed, cracked jokes, shared memories, and simply lived in the moments together. It was very clear that each human in these pictures were comfortable and filled with joy in these moments. Why? Because they were together, their favorite place to be. HOME. 

Were the bugs bad? YEP!   -  Was it hot? YES 

Something magical was happening here. The sky was dancing. The sun glimmers were abundant. The clouds parted for the magnificent sun. The sun glimmers were landing on the hearts of this family. As the person behind the camera, I felt drawn to capture this magic. 

Thank you for allowing me to be the Dove Family's plus one! I am truly blessed. This is how I see you each. I see love and true beauty in you each. 

Keep leading with love and the adventure heart you each share. I will be here cheering you on and showing up at your family events. :)

Branding for Refiner's Fire, LLC

This spring, a group of friends joined forces to launch a consulting business. I was their next phone call as they needed support in branding. Showing people how I see them is something that I truly love. The details in branding are important. 

Of course I had questions: 

- What are your brand colors? 

- What is your brands belief? 

- Who do you want to attract to your services? 

- How will you use these images? 

During our session, I continued to ask questions. I showed our created images to get feedback on the spot. After getting to know them as a group better, we got creative.

Dancing with the sun

Ashtyn asked me to capture a few photos with her and Drake during a sunset. This of course was rescheduled six times due to rain. (Yes, we know our power here.) 

This is something I have never done before creatively. I am not a professional photographer but enjoy taking pictures and this was going to be beyond my skills and knowledge. Ashtyn was not concerned. 

We finally found the sunshine night...... without a sunset. (Turns out these works of art can not be planned or requested, because we tried that too.) 

We started seeing what we could create. 

Ashtyn's son was our coach and equipment carrier for the night. There is a little boy that is very close with his mom and horse. Watching Ashtyn be a mom and giver of love to all of God's creatures is breathtaking. 

Getting the time to simply "be" as a mom comes in moments. 

As the sun was setting we got creative. Let us see what happens when........ we dance with the sun. 

 

Drake is a bundle of personalities that kept us laughing all night. There are several moments where he was cheesing for the camera too; falling asleep in place because being a "pretty boy" is exhausting. 

Once we learned that our painted sunset was not going to happen and the little boy was ready for us to all eat supper together, we headed back to the barn. 

Thank you for letting me live in the moments with you and dance in the sun.

Looking for round.....

 Life has been heavy and I needed to get out. 

I needed to get out in nature. 

I needed to get out with my camera and play. 

I needed to tap into the creative side of my brain. 

I needed to connect. 

I looked for things that were round(ed). 

When life is heavy, step out into nature and look for the rounded.
